About Scooter's BBQ
Scooter's BBQ started in 2001 serving close friends at house parties I would host at home. Steaks and seafood were the typical offerings as that was what I enjoyed cooking. As the frequency and size of these parties grew, my wallet shrunk.
Looking for more economical options than steaks & lobster, I bought a small chargrill smoker and began to experiment with smoked meats and southern cooking. Frequent compliments on the food and the desire to get out of the line cook position I held at the time at the Antlers Restaurant made me consider the possibility of working for myself. Finally, a man that I respected told me I would never be able to do it and voila!, Scooter's BBQ was born!
Starting in the spring of 2002, Scooter's BBQ started selling smoked BBQ items in and around Ithaca NY at various venues including The Ithaca Farmers Market, Ithaca Fest, Muse Fest, Grassroots, The Groton Old Home Days, Trumansburg Farmers Market, and private caterings from birthdays to weddings!
Today, Scooter's BBQ operates as a ghost kitchen ot of the Antlers Restaurant (I bought the restaurant!) and primarily does catered events and various festivals in the Ithaca NY area.
2023 marked a bit more of a focus on expanding our brand as we took home FIRST PLACE for presentation at the Ithaca Chili Fest and followed that up with a FIRST PLACE finish for best meat Mac n Cheese at the 2023 Foodnet Mac n Cheese Bowl with our Smoke Stack Brisket Mac!
Starting in February of 2024, we will be partnering up with Hopshire Farms & Brewery to be their primary food vendor! Stay tuned to our events calendar for more info!
